The New iOS 15.5 Update – Everything You Must Know About Apple’s Latest
Finally, a month after providing the iOS 15.4 update, Apple is back with the iOS 15.5 update and in this article we’ll breakdown the entire set of events – starting from the new performance indicators, changes, battery life, and other innovations that are coming your way if you’re crazy for iOS and everything Apple. So, without wasting much time let’s jump straight to the meaty part – i.e. let’s check out the perks when you get on with the iOS 15.5 update.
What’s New In iOS 15.5?
If you’re in the Apple family but do not own an iPhone don’t worry, Apple’s got the iPad OS 15.5, tvOS 15.5, HomePod OS 15.5, watchOS 8.6, and macOS Monterey 12.4. Clearly, Apple’s got the entire family covered here with the new updates!
iOS 15.5 – What’s New? Firstly, the new update is around 674 MB and you must be ready with that amount of space in your device.
But remember, the official size of the update can be way much more than 674 MB if you have a software update lower than 15.4.1. Probably close to 5 GB or more.
1. Apple Cash
The addition of buttons in the Apple Cash app is probably the biggest functional change in iOS 15.5. The Apple Cash app now has “Send” and “Request” using which users can receive and send money directly from Apple Cash card, saving a few steps for those transactions.

2. New ‘Sensitive Location’ Option in Photos
Now, you can set a few locations – where you clicked pictures and made videos – as sensitive. The memory option in the Photos app will not prop up pictures from these sensitive locations. Amazing! Isn’t it?
3. Podcast App
The iOS 15.5 features a tweak to the Podcast app, which now enables the user to change settings to use the app better and maintain storage without getting overboard. Now, users can set a limit to the number of downloads and the other videos will automatically get deleted.
4. Apple Balance
iOS 15.5 changes the name of the iTunes Pass feature for Wallet to Apple Balance. Users will now find a separate card in Apple Wallet for Apple Balance, similar to how a credit card shows up in the Wallet.
5. Apple Classical
For classical music lovers, this one’s a downer! The Apple Classical app has been removed but Apple will bring a new application that’ll work as a standalone app for everything classical music.
6. Other Additions
The iOS 15.5 update lays more emphasis and support for SportsKit and a prominent ‘Report an Issue’ button has been added to the Weather application.
