iOS 15 Release Date & New Features Rumours
Even though iOS 14 still seems quite new, iOS 15 rumours have already started to flood the internet. Going by the euphoria surrounding the iOS 15 features and the leaked images, it seems to be the right time to keep a tab on the iOS 15 release date and all the new features that are doing the rounds.
Much-Improved AR Experience
Despite a huge push, Augmented Reality hasn’t taken off as robustly as Apple would have liked. Not that developers aren’t taking advantage of the AR tools that the tech giant has offered, App Store lacks variety in terms of AR apps and games. Specially for the new iPhone 12 models.
Apple is expected to provide a much-improved AR experience in iOS 15. As of now, there is not much clarity about what could be the shape and more importantly, the direction of the enhanced AR, some major announcements in this regard seem pretty much on the cards.
Redesigned Apple Music
While Spotify remains by far the most loved music-streaming app with around 350 million active users, Apple Music has done pretty well to give a strong competition to the Swedish-based music app. However, it still needs some refinements to take the sheen away from Spotify.
There is one department where Apple Music lacks since its inception is the intuitive design language. While Apple Music is geared more towards offering a smooth and clean user-interface, Spotify is designed to be intuitive and snappier across platforms.
As per reports, Apple is said to be going for some notable changes to make the music-streaming app more intuitive. So, just in case you are an Apple Music user and have long wished for a snappier interface, this news should sound like music to you.

Wallpaper Themes
After a long wait, Apple has finally introduced the home screen widgets with the introduction of iOS 14. However, the tech giant is yet to launch Android-style wallpaper themes that change dynamically. Considering how big a role an eye-catching wallpaper plays in terms of giving a customize appearance to the home/lock screen, it’s apt to have a solid library of wallpaper themes.
If rumour mills will go right, iOS users may finally have a ton of cool wallpaper themes to customize the lock and home screen. What’s more, app developers are also expected to make the most of the custom-designed theme kit to further amp up the customization game.
A selection of Predefined App Icons
Since the release of iOS 7(2013), iOS app icons haven’t seen a major overhaul. In fact, if you come straight from iOS 7 to iOS 14, you may hardly notice much change in terms of the design of the app icons.
While it’s always good to have an iconic design language, it’s better to offer the needed customization to those who love to personalize app icons. Given how much appreciation the newly introduced home screen widgets have received, Apple is mulling to embrace full-on customization.
Putting all the rumours to rest, the iOS 15 update will come with a selection of predefined app icons for a more personalized experience.
