Apple’s 2023 Lineup – The Upcoming Apple Products This Year
Despite the last few years being a dull affair due to the global coronavirus pandemic, Apple returned with a bang in 2022 and we saw the launch of the new iPhone 14, the new iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, apart from the M2 MacBook Air, the 10.9” upgraded iPad, and three new Apple Watches. That’s a lot if we’re talking about a single brand eyeing a comeback for the masses after a 2-year hiatus. And now in this brand new year, everyone’s excited to find out what’s new in the Apple 2023 lineup – all the Upcoming Apple Products listed here for you. Let’s begin without any more delay.
If we’re to revise what all Apple has released in 2023 then we’re talking about new Macs and a new HomePod, which was launched in January. The line-up, so far, is as follows:
- M2 Mac Mini
- Mac Mini with M2 Pro
- 14” and 16” MacBook Pro with M2 Pro
- New HomePod
You can read the new MacBook comparison we did last week, here. Stay tuned to read what’s upcoming in Apple’s 2023 bucket and what are some of the big announcements they’ve made over the last few weeks.
Apple’s Next Big Announcements
With the surety of seeing some of the top upgrades in terms of MacBooks, iPads, iPhones, and even iWatches – we’ve segregated Apple’s big announcements in terms of these distinct devices, which are mentioned above. Thus, you will have a clarity as to what is being upgraded and what are the unique things that you might see in those upcoming devices. With some new Macs, new iPads, a new iOS version, and even 2-3 new Apple Watches – the year looks greatly packed.
iPhone 15 (Pro and Pro Max)
USB-C Port
First things first, let us talk about what everyone wants to hear about – yes, it is a brand new iPhone. After the distinct releases of the iPhone 14 series, the iPhone 15 is a curiosity Apple doesn’t want to hold back for long. Even though it is a known feat that Apple will announce the new iPhones in September 2023, we already know a few things about it – including the possibility of a universal USB-C charging port rather than the lightning connector.
Extension to Dynamic Island
Additionally, there can be an extension that we can see for the Dynamic Island feature, which was specifically given for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. Other design changes may lead the way to make the iPhones more sturdy, reliable, and damage-free as we’ve come to learn from the iPhone 14 series already.
Faster & Smarter Chip
Other than these features, the iPhone 15 is expected to be equipped with the Qualcomm X70 chip, with improved AI capabilities and faster processing speeds. This could see up to 60% improved efficiency in terms of coverage range, signals, and latency.
Few reports have also suggested the use of Sony’s upcoming ‘state-of-the-art’ image sensor that will produce richer, brighter, and sharper images. Though it might be only available in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models.
iPhone SE Plus
Though not confirmed, it is believed Apple will go ahead with a bigger and stronger iPhone SE Plus model – that may mean a positive for those who still love the broad and big iPhones and may still want the Home Button to be present. Let’s see if they get this update in 2023.
15” MacBook Air
Next, Apple is expected to release a 15-inch MacBook Air this year. Though other things are expected to be quite similar as the 16-inch MacBook Air, the design is supposed to be lighter and thinner – as the Air models have shown in the past.
The processor is expected to be the same Apple M2 processor with 8GB unified memory and 256GB SSD. This is expected to be a segment after the successful launch of the M2 MacBook Air.
iMac with M3 Chip
As per reports, Apple is definitely planning to launch the new iMac with the Apple M3 chip. Earlier it was rumoured that Apple is going to come up with their new ‘iMac Pro’ this year but whether it is going to be the Pro version with the M3 chip or another segment altogether that we will have to wait and watch.
The upcoming M3 chip is said to be built using the more efficient 3-nanometer fabrication process, according to Mark Gurman. He expects the M3 chip to arrive this year and primarily for the brand new iMac.
Reality Pro Headset
In an interesting move, this next 2023 addition is something that’s a bit different from all the other mentions in this list. Yes, in 2023 Apple is expected to roll out its Reality Pro headset, which might be called ‘Reality Pro’ if rumours are to be believed. But what we already know about the headset is that it is going to be one of a kind AR/VR headset that will change the way people consume content, listen to music, and stream their favourite videos.
Earlier it was expected to be released as early as January 2023 but that was later delayed for reasons unknown to us.
All-in-One Apple TV, HomePod, & FaceTime Camera
Next, the all-in-one Apple TV, HomePod, and FaceTime Camera assimilation in what can be called Apple’s finickiest experiments in the last decade or so. Though we had already heard about this update way back in 2021 nothing of this sort was released until the beginning of 2023. But it is being reported that Apple will finally go ahead with this product, which will see functions like gaming, watching videos, taking FaceTime calls using the HD camera, and using the box as a HomePod for general home-or-apartment usage.
iOS 17
This is something that’s more routine and we expect Apple to roll out the iOS 17 update in this year’s WWDC conference that will take place in June, 2023. It is expected that Apple will roll out these updates as iPadOS 17, iOS 17, macOS 14, and watchOS 10 but no specific details have been given about what’s new or special about the updates.
For that we will have to wait a bit.
Apple Watch Series 9
Next, we have the Apple Watch Series 9 addition to the list as Apple plans to go ahead and add the Ultra features to this one. Apart from the fact that there may be a new Apple Watch coming out in 2023, not a lot of other details are known when it comes to the Apple Watches segment.
Apple Silicon Mac Pro
Last, but not the least, we have the Apple Silicon Mac Pro update that is probably the most satisfying and eye-opening in 2023.
The new Mac Pro is expected to feature the M2 Ultra chip with a 20-core CPU, up-to 64 core GPU, and 64GB/128GB of unified memory. We could also see the Mac Pro get the M2 Extreme chip, which will then provide a 40-core CPU, up to 128-core GPU, and at least 128GB/256GB of unified memory.
These were some of the expected additions to the already existing crazy and ever-growing world of Apple and their revolutionary products. We will be back with a detailed review of the Apple iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max models in the coming months, make sure you read those.
