Imagine this – you are at the gym, just completed an awesome workout, and want to check how many calories you’ve burned for the day. You tap your Apple Watch and the screen doesn’t light up. You tap the button but still nothing happens. If you’re thinking about why your Apple Watch won’t turn on and are worried if it is damaged, then fret not, this article will help you.

While this is not a common issue that a lot of Apple Watch users face, there are several tips that you can use to fix this issue on your own. First, you need to understand that there can be several reasons why your Apple Watch screen won’t turn on even after repeated screen tapping and button pressing. It could be due to hardware problems, software issues, a faulty battery, or even cluttered storage. Let’s look at every possible reason one by one and try to turn on your Apple Watch.

Force Restart Your Apple Watch

Force restart has long been the first step to try when it comes to dealing with most of the common issues. And guess what, we are not going to overlook it even this time around. Don’t know how to restart an Apple Watch? Don’t worry, it is quite simple and there is no harm in trying it out.

While it may sound silly at first, one of the biggest reasons why your new Apple Watch won’t turn on is maybe because your Apple Watch’s battery has run too low or drained out. Put your smartwatch on a charger and let it charge for some time. Once the smartwatch has got enough juice, it will boot up automatically.

If your Apple Watch turns on and starts behaving normally, you are good to go.

Maybe your Apple Watch’s battery has run too low and it is not turning on due to the drained out battery. Put your smartwatch on a charger and let it charge for some time. Once the smartwatch has got enough juice, it will boot up automatically.

Is the VoiceOver and Screen Curtain Turned On?

Apple Watch has a unique feature that a lot of users can find problematic. The Screen Curtain feature of your iPhone will turn off the screen even when the watch is turned on. In this case, the user can navigate the Apple Watch only through the VoiceOver feature.

If your Apple Watch screen won’t turn on, then these features might be the reason why. For the Screen Curtain feature to work, the VoiceOver feature must be turned on as well. You can go to the Watch app on your iPhone, navigate to General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off. You can go inside the VoiceOver menu to turn off the Screen Curtain feature as well.

Erase Your Apple Watch and Pair it with iPhone Again

Wondering why you should erase your Apple Watch if the device is unable to turn on? Well, the reason is that it is considered as a one-stop solution. What’s more? It has the knack for fixing even complex issues. So, go for this radical yet reliable troubleshooting option to resolve the “Apple Watch won’t turn on” issue.

Navigate to the Watch app on your iPhone > General. Scroll down to the bottom and tap on Reset. Next, tap on Erase All Content and Settings. Once you have successfully erased your Apple Watch, reconnect it to your iPhone. If the Watch was not responding or display was dead due to some software bug, that is normally fixed by resetting and your Watch should be back on the setup screen, ready to be paired once again.

Ensure that the Cable Works

One more reason why your Apple Watch won’t turn on could be because it has run out of juice and the magnetic cable is not charging it as well. This is a scenario that will require a bit of trial and error from your side. To pinpoint whether the charger is faulty or the Apple Watch, try charging it with the same cable but from different outlets. First from an Apple adapter, then your computer’s USB port, and then from another adapter. If it can’t turn on the Apple Watch, then the cable might be faulty. Try changing the cable and repeat the steps again.

If changing the magnetic charging cable works and your Apple Watch is covered by AppleCare+, you can apply for a free replacement or go to the nearest Apple Store and get it replaced right away.

Bonus Tips to Fix the Apple Watch running Slow or lagging while usage

  • Maybe your smartwatch is short of space; redundant photos (which you have synced from your iPhone) and a ton of music stored on your Apple Watch along with a plethora of useless apps may have clogged up the storage. Knowing that cluttered storage tends to create many issues, including unexpected battery drain and overheating, it will be best to declutter your Apple Watch.
  • To clean up your Apple Watch, eliminate everything that has eaten into the precious storage of your device unnecessarily. Once the smartwatch has been cleaned up, it should start functioning properly.
  • Bear in mind that the problem could also be due to outdated software, in which case you can solve the problem simply by updating the watchOS from Settings – General – Software Update.

If Nothing Works Contact Apple Watch Repair Centre

If you’ve changed the magnetic cable, re-paired it with your iPhone, and even tried turning off the VoiceOver and Screen Curtain features and still your Apple Watch won’t turn on, then there might be an internal hardware issue that is causing the problem. Apple Watch Digital Crown Not Working – Guide Before Going For Repair

The Apple Watch Digital Crown serves as a vital input mechanism and offers several important functions that contribute to the overall user experience when using Apple’s smartest and most convenient wearable. Apart from facing certain issues due to regular use, the Apple watch digital crown scrolling by itself is a glitch that users might experience from time to time.

Source: Apple Insider

Before heading to a repair expert near you, for a viable Apple watch digital crown replacement service, you must first understand the essential reasons why your digital crown is the key to a successful and smooth operation of the Apple watch in general.

Here are some key reasons why the Digital Crown is essential:

  1. Scrolling and Navigation: The Digital Crown allows users to scroll through lists, messages, notifications, and other on-screen content without obstructing the display with their fingers. It provides precise control for scrolling vertically or horizontally, making navigation effortless and efficient.
  2. Zooming and Interaction: By rotating the Digital Crown, users can zoom in and out on maps, photos, webpages, and other content, providing a more immersive experience. Additionally, it serves as an alternative input method for interacting with various elements, such as adjusting sliders or making selections, enhancing usability and accessibility.

  1. Home Button Alternative: With the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 4 and later models, the Digital Crown has become an alternative to the physical Home button. A single press on the Digital Crown brings you back to the watch face, offering a convenient way to access the main interface and switch between apps.
  2. Siri Activation: Pressing and holding the Digital Crown activates Siri, Apple’s voice assistant. This allows users to perform a wide range of tasks on their Apple Watch, including setting reminders, sending messages, initiating phone calls, and controlling smart home devices, all through voice commands.
  3. Water Lock Feature: The Digital Crown’s design plays a crucial role in maintaining the water resistance of the Apple Watch. It uses a sealing mechanism to prevent water from entering the device when submerged or exposed to moisture. This feature enables users to track workouts, swim, and engage in water-related activities while wearing their Apple Watch. This feature enables locking the screen watch under water and ejects water, by rotating the crown, when the user comes out of water.
  4. Customizable Functions: Apple provides developers with the ability to leverage the Digital Crown’s input capabilities in their apps. This allows for unique and innovative interactions tailored to specific applications, such as scrolling through a timeline, adjusting settings, or controlling media playback.

Apple Watch Crown Not Working – Reasons

Now that you know the importance of a fully-functioning digital crown in your Apple Watch, let us understand the reasons why you would want to go for a replacement in the first place. A few signs might be obvious but you would want to be sure before sending your watch for repair to an expert. If your Apple Watch Digital Crown is not working, there could be several reasons behind the issue. Here are some possible causes why your Apple watch digital crown is stuck:

Source 9to5Mac

  1. Software Glitch: Sometimes, a software glitch can cause the Digital Crown to stop working. Try restarting your Apple Watch by pressing and holding the side button until you see the power off slider. Then, drag the slider to turn off the device. After a few seconds, press and hold the side button again until the Apple logo appears to turn it back on.
  2. Debris or Dirt: The Digital Crown may not function properly if there is debris or dirt stuck around it. Gently clean the Digital Crown and the area around it using a soft, lint-free cloth. You can also try using compressed air to remove any particles that might be affecting its movement.
  3. Water Damage: If your Apple Watch has been exposed to water or moisture, it’s possible that it could affect the Digital Crown’s functionality. Sometimes due to the water lock feature getting turned off by the crown’s rotation, there can be damage to the entire watch including the crown as the water will not be ejected out in such a case. Apple Watch Series 2 and later models are designed to be water-resistant, but excessive exposure to water or submerging it beyond the recommended depth can cause issues. In such cases, it’s best to contact Apple Support for assistance.

  1. Physical Damage: If your Apple Watch has experienced a significant impact or drop, it’s possible that the Digital Crown’s internal components have been damaged. In this situation, you may need to have it repaired by Apple or an authorised service provider.
  2. Software Update: Ensure that your Apple Watch has the latest software updates installed. Sometimes, new software updates address known issues and may resolve problems with the Digital Crown.
  3. Settings or Accessibility Options: Check your Apple Watch settings to ensure that the Digital Crown function is not disabled or assigned to a different action. Additionally, if you have any accessibility options enabled, make sure they are not affecting the Digital Crown’s behaviour.

The iPhone 11 Auto-Restart Issue: Why It Occurs & Ways To Fix

The iPhone 11, a big leap in the age of iPhones especially after the success of the iPhone X and iPhone XR models, has been quite a rage due to its cost-effectiveness and the new tech that it brings along in that price range. But recently, users have complained about the iPhone 11 auto-restart problem that’s causing quite a stir in the tech and Apple community. In this blog today, we’re going to focus on the few important reasons why iPhone 11 keeps restarting itself and then we will move on to a few basic iPhone 11 restart loop fixes that you can try at home.

Let’s start by knowing what can exactly cause this issue and what are the chances of your iPhone 11 facing a similar problem in the coming days and months.

iPhone 11 Auto-Restart Issue – Why Does It Happens?

There can be several reasons why an iPhone 11 might keep auto-restarting itself. Some possible causes include:

Source: HT City

  1. Software issues: A software glitch or a bug in the operating system can cause unexpected behavior, including auto-restarting. Updating to the latest version of iOS can often resolve such issues.
  2. App conflicts: Certain apps or combinations of apps might conflict with the operating system, leading to instability and auto-restarts. Try identifying any recently installed apps or apps that were running when the issue started, and consider uninstalling or updating them.
  3. Hardware problems: In some cases, a hardware issue can cause the iPhone to restart on its own. This could be related to the battery, power management, or other internal components. If you suspect a hardware problem, it’s best to contact Apple Support or visit an authorized service provider for assistance. To find out whether your device has a hardware issue or not, you can go to Settings > Analytics > Analytics Data and check for the list of error logs. If the logs say panic then your iPhone has a hardware issue.
  4. Overheating: If the iPhone 11 gets too hot, it may automatically restart as a safety measure. Ensure that you are not using the device in extreme temperatures or exposing it to direct sunlight for extended periods. Also, check if the restarts occur more frequently during resource-intensive tasks like gaming or running demanding apps.
  5. Battery-related issues: If the battery health is degraded or if there is an issue with the battery itself, it may cause the iPhone to restart unexpectedly. Check the battery health in the settings (Settings > Battery > Battery Health) and consider replacing the battery if necessary.

Now that we know what triggers the iPhone 11 restart issue, let us check a few basic troubleshooting options.

iPhone 11 Auto Restarting: Troubleshooting Steps

If you’re experiencing an issue with your iPhone 11 where it’s auto-restarting, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Source: YouTube

  1. Update your iPhone: Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS. To check for updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
  2. Restart your iPhone: Perform a manual restart by pressing and holding the Side/Power button along with either volume button until the “Slide to power off” slider appears. Slide it to turn off your iPhone, and then press and hold the Side/Power button again until the Apple logo appears.
  3. Reset all settings: Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will reset all your settings to their default values without deleting your data. Note that you’ll need to reconfigure your preferences afterward.
  4. Restore from backup: If the iPhone 11 auto-restarting issue persists, you can try restoring your iPhone from a previous backup using iTunes or Finder on a computer. Connect your iPhone to the computer, open iTunes/Finder, select your device, and choose the “Restore Backup” option.
  5. Contact Apple Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it’s recommended to contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store for further assistance. They can provide more specific guidance or arrange a repair if necessary.

Remember to back up your important data regularly, especially before attempting any troubleshooting steps that involve resetting or restoring your device. Apart from these troubleshooting options, you can try these steps if you’re stuck with an iPhone 11 loop and need an instant iPhone 11 loop fix to get rid of the mess. Here are a few plausible options to use before ultimately taking your iPhone 11 to an expert repair service:

iPhone 11 Loop Fix – Viable Options

If your iPhone 11 is stuck in a restart loop, where it keeps restarting continuously without reaching the home screen, you can try the following steps to fix the issue:

Source: Insider News

  1. Force restart: Perform a force restart by quickly pressing and releasing the Volume Up button, followed by the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side/Power button until you see the Apple logo. This action may break the restart loop and allow your iPhone to boot normally.
  2. Connect to a computer: Connect your iPhone 11 to a computer using a Lightning cable and open iTunes (or Finder on macOS Catalina and later). If prompted, choose to Trust the computer. iTunes or Finder may detect your iPhone in recovery mode and offer to restore it.
  3. Restore via recovery mode/DFU mode: If the force restart doesn’t resolve the issue, you can try putting your iPhone into recovery mode and then restore it. Here’s how:
    • Connect your iPhone to a computer.
    • Force restart your iPhone by quickly pressing and releasing the Volume Up button, followed by the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side/Power button until you see the recovery mode screen (iTunes/Finder icon and a cable).
